Shortly after their marriage, the couple relocated to Mt. Pleasant, where Mrs. Evans taught Music and Business at Mt. Pleasant High School. In 1957, she accepted the position of Elementary Music Teacher for the Mt. Pleasant School District and taught until her retirement in 1993.
