Todd L. McBeth, 62, of Sallisaw OK and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 in Ft. Smith, AR.
Funeral services were Friday, June 17 at the First United Methodist Church of Sallisaw. A graveside memorial service for Todd will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 8 at the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The Reverend Deborah J. Stowers, Senior Pastor, First United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant, will officiate. There will be no visitation at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, which is in charge of the arrangements.

Todd was born September 2, 1953 in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Melvin Lee and Evelyn Louise (Johnson) McBeth. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School in 1972, where he played football and basketball for the Panthers. He received his B.A. degree from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX in 1979. Todd furthered his education by receiving his M.S. degree in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University of Kingsville in 2001, and became a licensed professional counselor. He then did post graduate at the University of North Texas in Denton.
While in Texas, Todd taught all grades in school and was also a counselor where he counseled students up to the age of 22. He had also taught GED classes for adults. Most recently, Todd was a counselor for Sequel Care of Oklahoma in Poteau, OK.
Todd was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sallisaw, Kappa Delta Pi (International Honor Society in Education), Chi Sigma Iota (International Honor Society in Counseling) and the American Counseling Association.
Those thankful for sharing in Todd's life include his brother, C. Tim McBeth and his wife Bonnie of Trempealeau, Wisconsin and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are cousins of local connections including Judy Sammons, Cass Gibson and Fran Warth, all of Mt. Pleasant, Brian Pobanz of Wayne, New Jersey and Carolyn Westbrook of St. Louis, Missouri.
His parents and both sets of grandparents precede Todd in death.
