Pauline L. Damewood Newberry, 96, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at her residence in Mt. Pleasant.
A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Newberry will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 16 at the Maple Hill Cemetery in College Springs, Iowa. Friends may call from 12 Noon to 9:00 PM on Thursday at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant. There will be no family visitation.

Mrs. Newberry, the former Pauline Lois Wills, was born January 27, 1922 in Taylor County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Raymond & Alma (Gray) Wills. She graduated from Amity High School in College Springs. On September 10, 1942 in Maryville, MO, Pauline was united in marriage to Kenneth Lyle Damewood. Mr. Damewood died March 28, 1976. She then married John Newberry on July 19, 1986. Mr. Newberry died September 21, 1989.
Pauline worked at the John Green Dept. Store, Harrison Dime Store, Henry Country Treasurer Office and Ideal Concrete before retiring. She was a 50 - Year member and Past Worthy Matron of Order of the Easter Star, Highland Chapter of Siam, Iowa. She was a member and Past President of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She loved to play bridge and was a member of different bridge clubs. She loved spending time with her family.
Those thankful for sharing in Pauline's life include two daughters. Sandra Damewood and Teri (Roger) Harrison, both of Mt. Pleasant; a step son, Jerry Newberry of Dallas City, IL; 3 grandchildren Richard (Ginger) Cain of Phoenix, AZ, Marti (Harrison) Keldgord of Mt. Pleasant and Matthew (Kelly) Harrison of Norfolk, VA and 5 great grandchildren - Blake Cain, Breanna Keldgord, Cole Keldgord, Cooper Keldgord and Sloane Harrison.
Her parents, husbands, a daughter - Judi (Richard) Cain; 7 brothers and sisters - Orville Wills, Marie (Bryson) Lundgren, Arnold Wills, Robert Wills, JoAnn Lundgren, Kenneth Wills and Darwin Wills and 2 granddaughters precede Pauline in death.
