Marc Ryan Davis

Marc Ryan Davis, 35, of Mediapolis, died Thursday, October 12, 2023 in Minnesota.

            Marc and his brother Philip were born June 21, 1988 in Iowa City. Marc attended Mediapolis High School where he was active in football, basketball and FFA. Marc graduated from Mediapolis High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College. Outside of school, Marc was active with 4-H.

            Farming was near and dear to Marc. He showed swine at the Iowa State Fair with his dad and brother. He enjoyed raising hogs and cattle. He also enjoyed selling livestock trailers with his dad. Marc spent happy hours with nephews Davis, Simeon, Bo and niece Leah Nichols.

            Those thankful for sharing in Marc’s life include his parents, Merle Ann and Brad Davis of Mediapolis; his twin brother, Philip of Kansas City, KS; his sister and her husband, Diana & Kelly Nichols of Eureka, IL; his nephews and niece, Davis, Simeon, Bo and Leah; his maternal grandfather Merle Unkrich and his paternal grandparents, Kenneth & Gail Davis.

            Marc is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Betty Unkrich and his great grandparents.

            A memorial funeral service for Marc will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, October 24th at the Olds United Church of Christ. Kelly Nichols, Scott Heater and Pastor Elaine Vass will officiate. Friends may greet the family 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Inurnment of Marc’s ashes will be in the Asbury Cemetery, rural Olds.

           Those considering an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital to help children with cancer. Because Marc loved animals, he believed in the adoption and rescue of dogs and cats. Donations may be given to: "Sunny's Legacy" or "A Little Bit of Country Dog Rescue".
