Irene Park Glover Obituary

  Irene J. Park Glover, 89, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Knoxville, IA, died Monday, April 18, 2022 at Park Place Elder Living in Mt. Pleasant.

          A memorial funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 29 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 1202 Woodland Drive, Knoxville, IA. The Reverend Kevin Anstey, Pastor, will celebrate the mass. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Knoxville. The Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, is assisting Irene’s family with the arrangements.

          Irene Jane Timmermans was born December 5, 1932 in Klondike, South Dakota. She was the daughter of John and Gertrude (ter Wee) Timmermans. She graduated as the Valedictorian from the Inwood (IA) High School in 1950. She then graduated from the Sioux Valley School of Nursing in Sioux Falls, SD. Irene was united in marriage to Clifford Park who precedes her in death. She then married Joe Glover in Texas. Mr. Glover precedes in death as well.

          For many years, Irene was a Registered Nurse in the at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville. Irene was gifted with many talents. Some of her favorites, though, included sewing and crocheting. Bridge was important to Irene, as she was a devoted Bridge player. She also enjoyed baking Dutch treats. For a number of years, Irene was an organist at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Knoxville.

          Those thankful for sharing in Irene’s life include her son and his wife, Steve and Linda Park of Mt. Pleasant; 2 granddaughters – Stephanie (Albert) Schinstock and Lindsay (Wade) Cornick; 3 great grandchildren – McKayla, Noah and Isaiah; a brother Ron (Barbara Zimmer) Timmermans of Orlando, FL and a sister-in-law, Deanna Jackson of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina;

           Her parents, husbands and a brother, John Timmermans, precede Irene in death.
