Yean Chyn "Ruth" Su, 75, recently of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and formerly of California, died Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Henry County Health Center Emergency Room.

Private family services will be held. Cremation rites have been entrusted to the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant.

Yean was born July 10, 1949 in Shaing Hi, China, the daugher of Xi Jie and Jia Ting (Wang) Yu. She relocated to Taiwan with her family while she was an infant. She attended school and college in Taiwan, earning Bachelors and Masters degrees. She was united in marriage to Kei Su.

Yean was a math teacher at Upland High School in California. Upon her retirement, she moved with her son, Peter, to Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed the wildlife in her backyard and was very fond of her pet cats.

Survivors include her husband, Kei of California and her son Peter of Mt. Pleasant.
