William R. "Bill" Streeter, 54, of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, September 30, 2017 at his residence. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 7 at Waterworks Park near Oakland Mills, rural Mt. Pleasant, IA. Friends and family attending are asked to bring a dish and memories of Bill to share. The Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, is assisting the family with arrangements. Bill wished to be cremated. Online condolences may be directed to www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com. Bill was born June 23, 1963 in Clay Center, Kansas. He was the biological son of William Eugene Streeter and Mary Bernice Warrick. He moved to California as a baby. He was raised by his dad and his mom Claudia (Buffington) Streeter. In 1972, the family settled in Mt. Pleasant. Bill graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School in 1982. Bill married Monica Jean Schwerin in August 1983. Their son is Joshua. The couple later divorced. Bill was engaged to Robin Sammons who died. Bill married Amy Collette Sourwine in July 1990. Their son is Colton. They divorced. Bill obtained his CDL through Indian Hills Community College and attended classes in mechanics at Southeastern Community College. He was in the National Guard for 6 years. Bill worked for Kinze Manufacturing in Marengo as a welder. He worked for White Cell and Modine, both in Washington, in fabrication. Bill also was an over-the-road driver for Hummer Trucking and drove log trucks for Batey Sawmill of Mt. Pleasant. Bill's declining health forced him to retire from trucking. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed camping and fishing, mostly at Oakland Mills. He liked to hunt mushrooms and deer. Bill loved to be with his family and friends. Those thankful for sharing in Bill's life include 2 sons - Joshua W. Streeter (Nikki) of Washington, IA and Colton W. Streeter of Marion, IA; his father William of Junction City, KS; his mother Claudia of Mt. Pleasant; 4 siblings - Theresa Estes of Montville, CT, Ulysses Sherman Estes of Springfield, OH, Jeff Streeter of Albuquerque, NM and Evan Streeter of Harrogate, England; 2 grandsons - Clayton Streeter and Zachary Streeter, both of Washington.
