Sandra K. Stafford, 61, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at her residence. Friends may call from 12 Noon to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 7 at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant. The family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening. There will be no funeral service. Cremation rites have been accorded. Those considering an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Henry County Animal Rescue League. Online condolences may be directed to www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com Sandra Kay Anderson was born April 26, 1952 in Mount Pleasant. She was the daughter of Roger R. and Irene Marie (nee Curtis) Anderson. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1970. On April 3, 1971 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Burlington, IA, Sandra was united in marriage to Jack Eldon Hummell. The couple later divorced. On December 26, 1995 at the Parkview Nursing Home in Fairfield, Sandra married Paul Edward Stafford. For 35 years, Sandra was employed at the former Vega Industries and Heatilator Fireplace Mfg. Corp. Although she was briefly in various departments of the company, she was primarily a fork lift driver in the Shipping Dept. She retired in 2008, but recently returned to Hearth & Home Technologies to work in the Shipping Dept. Sandra was a frequent bowler. She bowled in leagues in Mt. Pleasant and was a member of the "600 Club". Sandra was an adept billiards player. She shot pool in a number of tournaments in the area. She loved playing Bingo at the VFW and Moose Lodge, both in Mt. Pleasant. Sandra was known for her poetry and her artwork in pen and pencil mediums. Those thankful for sharing in Sandra's life include her husband Paul of Mt. Pleasant; 1 daughter, Kimberly Conrad and her friend Tab Burns of Mt. Pleasant; 1 son and his wife, Jeffrey and Amber Hummell and their daughter Jenna, all of New London; 1 brother, William Anderson and longtime family friend Susie Klopfenstein of Mt. Pleasant; 2 step children, DeAnn Yoder and her husband Morgan of Kalona, IA and Dana Stafford and his wife Shelli and their son Jayden of Wellman, IA and 2 other step children. Her parents precede Sandra in death.
