Robert D. "Bob" Carufel, 68, of Mesa, Arizona, died March 31, 2019, at his residence. A graveside funeral service for Mr. Carufel will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 9 at the Oakland Mills Cemetery, rural Mt. Pleasant. The Reverend Deborah J. Stowers, Senior Pastor, First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Friends may call from 1-1:45 PM on Tuesday at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mt. Pleasant. Survivors include his wife, Thea (Oldt) Carufel of Mesa, formerly of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter Elizabeth, a brother Steve, a sister Christine, a niece Rachel and a brother-in-law, Bill Butterfield. Local survivors include a brother-in-law and his wife, Gary and Nicola Oldt of Mt. Pleasant; a sister-in-law, Sharon Oldt of Oelwein, IA and several nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his mother and father in law, F. Richard and Pauline E. (Breazeale) Oldt and a sister-in-law, Janet (Oldt) Butterfield.
