She attended Hoover High School and graduated in January of 1977 from Roosevelt High School, both in Des Moines. On August 27, 1977 at the First Christian Church in Des Moines, Paula was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Griffith.
The couple made their home in the Grundy Center, IA area where Paula was a nurse's aide at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. The couple moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1978 where Paula continued her career as a nurse's aide at the Mt. Pleasant Mental Health Institute for 9 years. Paula then took a position with the Owl's Nest Daycare Center in Mt. Pleasant. She went back to college at Southeastern Community College for classes in Administrative Skills. Paula completed her working career as a receptionist for the Shear Advantage Hair Salon in Mt. Pleasant. After retirement, Paula volunteered as a Home Care Aide.
Paula formerly attended the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant where she was active in many children related events, including Moms-in-Touch, the church's nursery and Vacation Bible School. She also taught bible study in the Seekers class as well as participating in other bible studies and commentaries. Paula was currently a member of the Faith Christian Outreach Church.
In her spare time, Paula enjoyed reading murder mysteries, completing word search puzzles and watching old movies. Her love of Christmastime allowed her to be keenly involved in being a very talented shopper. Always maintaining a cheerful disposition, Paula was one who never met a stranger, even through her struggles with health concerns. Most of all, she treasured the time she could be with Yoda, her pet Pug dog and her husband Bob, who was the love of her life.
