Oren G. Shaffer age 90, of Fairfield, Iowa changed his address to his Heavenly home May 7, 2024.

He was born in Elizabeth, Indiana on September 21, 1933, the son of  the late Garvin A. and Beatrice Blackman Shaffer. He attended school in New Albany, Indiana. He married his wife, Sally Jeannine Graf on November 23, 1952 at the Church of the Nazarene in Monmouth, Illinois. Sally preceded him in death February 3, 2010. They made their home in Monmouth Illinois, where he worked at the Review Atlas as a typesetter. He would work for Wilson Meat Packing Company and also Munson Trucking. They later moved to Iowa. His hobbies included restoring Allis Chalmers tractors and a Cadillac. He is survived by his son, Douglas Shaffer and daughters, Leilani (Dan) Dodd, Leah (Mark) Blauvelt, Kimberly (Merlin) Miller, Lisa (Subodh) Choudhary. Grandchildren, Dustin Dodd, Micah Dodd, Aaron Blauvelt, Eric Miller, Ashley Schaefer, Anil Choudhary and Asha (Chandler) Sas and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother in law Art Hartwick. A private family funeral service was held at Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
