Joshua Michael Pierce

Joshua Michael Pierce, 43, of Lockridge, died Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Josh was born July 10, 1982 in Springdale, AR. He was the son of Edward D. and Kimberly Sue (Kruse) Pierce, Jr. He moved with his family to Iowa as his parents worked for the Hardees Restaurant Corporation. Josh graduated from Centerville (IA) High School. He furthered his education, receiving his Associate of Arts degree from Indian Hills Community College and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Buena Vista University.

Josh was a Supervisor for the Innovaire Corporation of Mt. Pleasant for many years. Off the job, Josh was a devoted gamer – both of Xbox and online. When he wasn’t gaming, Josh enjoyed bowling and miniature golf. As his major fields of study at college required it, Josh developed a strong appetite and love of reading. Josh could also be found trying his luck from time to time at Riverside Casino in Riverside, IA.

Those thankful for sharing in Josh’s life include his soulmate, Shanika Lynn Scheler of Lockridge; his maternal grandmother, Sheryl Cook of Lockridge; his aunts and uncles – Heidi (Jeremy) Corbin of Lockridge, Sharon Cook of Salem, Bill (Lavonna) Kruse of Arkansas, Heather (Supra) Gaspar of Jacksonville, FL and Rhonda Kruse of Keosauqua and Josh’s fur baby, Baby Opal. Josh is also survived by many cousins and multiple paternal family members in Arkansas.

His parents precede him in death.

A Celebration of Life for Josh has been tentatively set for what would have been his 44th birthday, July 10, 2026, with a location to be confirmed later. Cremation rites have been entrusted to the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mt. Pleasant.
