Gladys M. White, 87, of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, November 22, 2019 at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant.

A graveside memorial service for the family was held on July 27, 2020 at the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The Kimzey Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, is assisting the family. On line condolences may be left at www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com.

Mrs. White, the former Gladys Marie Greer, was born October 28, 1932 in Mt. Pleasant, she was the daughter of Harold Joseph and Margaret Mae (Cronin) Greer. She attended Mt. Pleasant High School. On December 30, 1948 in Iowa City, IA, Gladys married J. William "Bill" White. Mr. White died February 7, 2004.

Gladys worked for a time for the Sheaffer Pen Co. and the former Metromail Corp. For most of her working career, Gladys was the bookkeeper for the family business, White's Floor Covering. She retired in 2002.

Gladys was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, most especially to South Padre Island.

Survivors include 2 sons – Michael White and his wife Bonnie of Camdenton, MO and John White of Iowa City; 2 grandchildren – Amanda & Aaron White; 1 great grandson – Brayden Rash, and 1 sister, Mrs. Lois Scarff of Minneapolis, MN,

Her parents, husband, a sister – Reva Kinney, a brother – Ronald Greer, a brother-in-law - Marvin Scarff and a sister-in-law – Jan Greer precede Gladys in death.
