Obituary

Geraldine S. Ford, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at Southeast Regional Medical Center Hospice House in West Burlington.

Mrs. Ford, the former Geraldine Sue Branch, was born October 8, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant. She was the daughter of Harry V. and Letha (Wilson) Branch. Geraldine was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, Class of 1957. She had been united in marriage to John James Wilson. On February 5, 1963 in Biggsville, IL, Geraldine was united in marriage to William Alfred Ford, Jr. Mr. Ford preceded Geraldine in death on July 3, 1987.

Geraldine worked as a receptionist for the Kauffman Chiropractic Clinic. She worked for Ruby Droz and the Iris Motel.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Mt. Pleasant, the American Legion Auxiliary, the VFW Auxiliary and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge. Geraldine enjoyed beadwork, crocheting, word puzzles, reading and traveling. Christmas was a very important time to Geraldine, and she loved to decorate for the holiday.

Survivors include her children – Annie Marie Webster of Sierra Vista, AZ, Connie Sue (Wilson) Dakin and her husband Desmond of Mesa, AZ, Jama Dawn (Wilson) Hummell of Phoenix, AZ and William Joseph Ford of Phoenix, AZ; 2 brothers – Lester Branch and wife Linda of LaHarpe, IL, and Gary Branch and wife Dorothy of New London, IA; a sister-in-law, Jean Branch of Myrtle Beach, SC; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Her parents, both husbands, a son-in-law, Jeff Webster, 2 brothers – Larry Branch and Russell Branch and a sister-in-law, June Branch, precede Geraldine in death.

A service to celebrate Geraldine's life will be held at a later date with inurnment in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, is assisting Geraldine's family with the arrangements.
