Gerald Eugene "Jerry" "Moose" Parker, 70, of Burlington and formerly of Mt. Pleasant and Donnelson, IA, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington. Gerald was born November 17, 1942 in near Oakland Mills, rural Mt. Pleasant, IA. He was the son of Delbert and Lois (Welch) Parker. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1962. Mr. Parker had been married to Diana Irene (Woodsmall) Parker. The couple later divorced. He then married Frances Dochterman Parker. Frances preceded Gerald in death. He then married Helen Reid Parker. The couple later divorced. Jerry began his working career on his family farm. In 1972, he began a 30 year career with the former Blue Bird Bus Company in Mt. Pleasant. He worked in all the departments of the factory. He was on the assembly line for 12 years, and also worked in the paint and window departments. After residing in Mt. Pleasant, Mr. Parker lived for a while in Donnellson before moving to Burlington. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Burlington. He was a member of the Steamboat Senior Center in Burlington where he was a past president. He was a member of the Hawkeye Natives Golden Oldies. In his spare time, Jerry enjoyed quilting and cards, most especially pinochle, as he was a member of a pinochle card club. Survivors include a son and his wife, Gregory and Kelly Parker of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Valerie Parker of Mt. Pleasant; a brother and his wife, Dale and Jessie Parker of LaFayette, GA; 6 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. His parents, his second wife and a sister in infancy, Geraldine Parker, precede Jerry in death.
