Beverly J. Carver, 72, of New London, IA and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, Trenton and Lockridge, IA, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Henry County Health Center Emergency Room, Mt. Pleasant, after being stricken at home. A funeral service for Beverly will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, September 5 at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call from 12 Noon to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 4th at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant. The family will be present to receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday Those considering an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the family for a charity to be named at a later date. Online condolences may be sent to www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com. Mrs. Carver, the former Beverly Joan Savage, was born December 14, 1940 in Iowa City, IA. She was the daughter of Raymond O. and Dorothy J. (nee Engle) Savage. Beverly graduated from Lockridge High School. On August 16, 1959 in Mt. Pleasant, Beverly was united in marriage to Arnold LeRoy "Art" Carver, Sr. Mr. Carver died January 25, 1997 in Mt. Pleasant. From 1965-1968, Beverly was employed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown. She had worked at Alice Whaley's Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant and at the Cargill and Pioneer Seed Plants in Mt. Pleasant. Beverly also worked as a bartender in Salem and Lockridge. In 1988, Beverly went to work for Heatilator in Mt. Pleasant. She retired in 1990. During her entire working career, Beverly also cleaned houses for several families. Mrs. Carver was of the Baptist Faith. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, New London Chapter #440 and the Women of the Moose in Mt. Pleasant. In hear spare time, she enjoyed bead craft work, creating doilies and playing cards. She was an enthusiastic fan of professional wrestling, as many of her family and friends knew not to call her when wrestling was on TV. Those thankful for sharing in Beverly's life include a daughter, Lennette B. Carver of Mt. Pleasant; 2 granddaughters - Jennifer Lynn Carver and Megan Marie Carver and 3 great grandchildren - Maddee Carver and Tanner & Brynnlin Rodibaugh. Her parents, husband, a son - Arnold L. Carver, Jr., a daughter, Rhonda Carver and 3 brothers - Donald G., Ronald D. and Bobby D. Savage, precede Beverly in death.
