Stephen Kent Hensely, 65, of Mt. Pleasant, and formerly of Ft. Madison and Macomb, died Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Stephen Kent Hensely was born December 1, 1950 in Macomb, Illinois. He was the son of James Marvin and Goldie Marie (Dunn) Hensely. He was raised in the Macomb area until his family moved to Chicago. They returned to the Macomb area where Stephen attended school.
Mr. Hensely was a mechanic at Stoyer Motors in Ft. Madison. He later worked for Feinburg Metals in Ft. Madison. At the time of his death, Stephen was an auto body technician working at Sam's Auto Repair in New London. Mechanic work was not only his vocation, but his avocation as well, as he loved to spend time repairing things. He also built model cars. Most especially, however, Stephen loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Survivors include 2 sons, Bronson Hensely of Kansas City, MO and Bryan Kirkhart of Oskaloosa, IA; 1 brother - Tracy Hensely of Ft. Madison; 2 sisters - M. Canace "Candi" Rehm and her husband Wayne of West Burlington and LeAnn Walker of St. Petersburg, FL and 3 grandchildren;
His parents, a son - Brandon Hensely and a brother Gregory Hensely precede Stephen in death.
