Pauline Cornell Watkins, 86, of Sun City, Arizona and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Ventenna Winds Care Center in Peoria, Arizona.
A funeral service for Pauline Cornell Watkins will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant. The Reverend Charles Courtney, Pastor, Bloomfield Open Bible Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call after 9:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home. The family will be present to receive friends from 12 Noon- 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Pauline Kitch Cornell Watkins was born August 6, 1927 in Mt. Pleasant. She was the daughter of George Lane and Vera Emma (nee Taft) Kitch. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1946. In 1948 in Maryland, Pauline married Perry Cornell. The couple later divorced. On February 13, 1992 in Sun City, AZ, Pauline married Edwin Watkins. Mr. Watkins preceded her in death.
In Mt. Pleasant, Pauline was employed at Wing's Bakery, Dick's Doughnuts and the former Metromail Corporation. While living in Arizona, she worked in the kitchen of the Boswell Extended Care Facility in Sun City. She was a member of the Evangel Assembly of God church in Sun City. During her Mt. Pleasant years, she was a member of the Open Bible Church.
Those thankful for sharing in Pauline's life include 4 children - David Cornell of Glendale, AZ, Diane Coughlin of Mt. Pleasant, Dennis Cornell of Illinois and Danny (April) Cornell of Mt. Pleasant; 2 sisters-in-law - Ruby Kitch and Alberta Kitch, both of Mt. Pleasant; 9 grandchildren - Jason Cornell, Roxanne Hughes (serving in the US Air Force in Afghanistan), Michael & Juston Sammons, Trevor Coughlin, Lincoln Dupree, Samantha Cornell, Danny Lee Cornell, Jr. and Vivian Cornell; 6 great grandchildren and 1 step great grandson.
Her parents, both of her husbands, 4 brothers - Richard, Earl, Edward and Jim Kitch and a granddaughter, Michelle Cornell, precede Pauline in death.
