Mildred E. Bossler, 83, of Mt. Pleasant, IA and formerly of Keokuk and Nauvoo, IL, died Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Park Place Elder Living in Mt. Pleasant.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation or formal funeral service. The Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be directed to Iowa Wesleyan College. Mrs. Bossler, the former Mildred Elva Lorentzen, was born May 22, 1930 in Boone, IA. She was the daughter of Edward Carl and Glendora (nee Elmore) Lorentzen. She moved to Keokuk with her family where she was raised. On January 9, 1948 in Van Dyke, MI, Mildred was united in marriage to Joseph O. Bossler. The couple later divorced.
From 1979 until 1996, Mildred was employed at the J. Raymond Chadwick Library at Iowa Wesleyan College. She was a member of the Nauvoo United Methodist Church in Nauvoo, IL.
Survivors include 2 sons, Norman Bossler of Mt. Pleasant and Glen Bossler of Bluff Springs, IL; 1 daughter - Carol Mayer of Broken Arrow, OK; 1 brother - Perry Lorentzen of Santa Barbara, CA; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Her parents, former husband, and 4 brothers - Frank, Lawrence, Howard and Paul Lorentzen, precede Mildred in death.
