Hope L. Lox, 50, of Keokuk and formerly of the Burlington, IA and Gladstone, IL areas, died Monday, November 21, 2016 at her residence in Keokuk.
According to Hope's wishes, the DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center, 917 Blondeau St., Keokuk has been entrusted with her cremation. A time of visitation with the family present will be held from 1-3 PM on Saturday, December 3 at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant. Hope Lucille Lox was born August 19, 1966 in Burlington, IA. She was the daughter of Irvin Eugene and Beverly Mae (Roberts) Lox. She was raised in the Gladstone, IL area, where she graduated from Union High School. In Biggsville, IL. She was married to Kelley Hummell. The couple later divorced
Hope was a longtime homemaker. She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed riding horses, crocheting, cooking and gardening. She loved to read, especially her favorite book "Jesus Calling".
Survivors include 2 sons, Tommy Joe Hummell and his special friend Justine Rusk of Hillsboro, IA and Derek Throckmorton and his special friend Brittany Keeley of Mt. Pleasant; 1 sister, Darcy Pence of McComb, IL and 1 granddaughter, Natalie Throckmorton of Mt. Pleasant.
Her parents and a sister, Dinna Lox, precede Hope in death.
