Eva Casady Obituary
Eva Stoderl Casady, 84, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of New London, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 in the Palliative Care Unit of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, IA.
The funeral mass for Eva will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 16 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 607 S. Jackson St., Mt. Pleasant. Father Joseph Phung, Pastor, will celebrate the mass. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call from 2-8 PM on Sunday at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant. The Rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM and the family will be present to receive friends after the Rosary until 6:00 PM.

Eva Stoderl Casady was born March 5, 1929 in Esmond, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Michael and Dorothy (nee Hagar) Roerick. Eva was united in marriage to Clarence Stoderl who precedes in death. She then married Lowell Verl Casady. Mr. Casady died in 2002.
Eva operated two businesses in Warwick, North Dakota until relocating to New London in 1962. She worked at the glove factory in New London for 8 years. For 2 years, she worked at TRW-IRC in Burlington. Eva then went to work for the former Heatilator Corp in Mt. Pleasant, from which she retired.
Eva was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the church's Altar and Rosary Society. She held a deep love for animals and family gatherings.
Those thankful for sharing in Eva's life include her 5 children - Gary Stoderl and his wife Joan, James Stoderl, Randy Stoderl and Karen Pingel and her husband Robert, all of Mt. Pleasant and Sheila Hulett and her husband Marvin of West Burlington; 3 brothers - Eugene Roerick of Detroit Lakes, MN, Adam Roerick of Tolna, ND and Ambrose Roerick of Stanwood, WA; 5 sisters - Berta Golade and her husband Eddie of Mandan, ND, Mrs. Martina Franzen of Fraise, ND, Angeline Beaulieu and her husband Conn of Bemidji, MN, Jenny Verm and her husband Loraine of Tolna, ND and Diane Piker & her husband Duane of Springfield, MO; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Her parents, husbands, 2 brothers - Matthew and Andrew Roerick and 2 sisters - Dorothy ANN Roerick and Rose Shirley precede Eva in death.
