Delores Booton Obituary
Delores J. Booton, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, January 6, 2019 at her residence.
The funeral service for Delores will be 10:00 AM on Friday, January 11 at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant. The Reverend Steve English, Pastor, First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call from 12 Noon to 9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. The family will be present to receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday evening.

Delores Jean (Schafer) Booton was born February 9, 1933 in Mt. Pleasant. She was the daughter of Clarance Jacob Elloworth Schafer and Elizabeth Isabella (Westerbeck) Schafer. Delores graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1952. On November 15, 1952 in Pocahontas, AR, Delores married John Don Booton. The couple later divorced.
From 1961 to 1988, Delores lived in Washington State where she was a juvenile counselor and driver for the Echo Glen Delinquency School. She retired and return to Mt. Pleasant 1n 1988 and worked part time at various businesses. Primarily in retirement, Delores clean houses for several families.
Delores had been a member of the First Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant Women's Club, the Rebekah Lodge, a bowling league at the Iris Bowling Center, the Southside Mother's Club, AARP and the AFSCME Retirees. She enjoyed reading, visiting the local casinos, raising flowers and donating to charities. She also had a fondness for keeping her boys in check with gentle ribbing and reminding.
Those thankful for sharing in Delores' life include a son, Bob of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Patty Morrow of Fontana, CA and a grandson, Takota Booton.
Delores is preceded in death by 2 sons - Baby John Booton and Tom Booton; a daughter in infancy - Katherine Booton; a brother - Clifford Schafer and 2 sisters - Sandra Schafer and Evelyn Beavers.
