Charlene M. Boles, 68, of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, April 05, 2018 at her residence.
A celebration of life will be held from 4-7 PM on Monday, April 09 at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant. A private family burial will be held prior to the celebration of life at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Pastor Brian Swafford will officiate.

Mrs. Boles, the former Charlene Maye Fike, was born August 9, 1949 in Estherville, IA. She was the daughter of Lee and Imogene (Bevan) Fike. She grew up in Lake Park, IA and graduated from Lake Park High School in 1967. Charlene graduated from the Larson School of Cosmetology in Spencer., IA. On September 2, 1967 at the United Methodist Church in Lake Park, Charlene was united in marriage to Paul Raymond Boles.
The couple moved to Emmetsburg in 1969. Charlene was a homemaker while raising her children. In 1979, they moved to Mt. Pleasant. Charlene worked as the Assistant Activities Director at the (then) Mapleleaf Care Center.
Charlene bowled with Paul in a couples bowling league. She had an extreme fondness for dogs of all types. Much of Charlene's spare time was devoted to her favorite pastime, doting on her grandchildren.
Those thankful for sharing in Charlene's life include her husband of 50 years, Paul of Mt. Pleasant; 2 children and their spouse, Scott & Dana Boles and Nicci & Michael Hill, all of New London, IA; 2 sisters, Marilyn Carden-Crill and her husband Larry of Mt. Pleasant and Karen Miller of Spirit Lake, IA; 3 brothers-in-law, Allen Carden of Mt. Pleasant, Bud Boles of Milford, IA, and Russell Boles and his wife Sharon of West Des Moines, IA; 6 grandchildren - Justin, Kyle and Darin Hill and Mitchell, Levi and Alisha Boles, and 2 step grandchildren - Tyler and Ritter Noble.
Her parents and a brother, Francis Fike, precede Charlene in death.
