Betty Bryan Obituary

Betty Lou Bryan, 72 of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Keosauqua and California, died Thursday, December 12, 2013 at her residence.
A committal service for Betty Bryan will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 17 at the Keokuk National Cemetery, Keokuk, IA. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon on Tuesday at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant. Online condolences may be directed to www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com.
Mrs. Bryan, the former Betty Lou Canady, was born July 31, 1941 in Merced, California. She was the daughter of Jessie Lee and Ruby Mae (nee Lee) Canady. She attended school and graduated from high school in California. She was united in marriage to Bobby Gene Bryan in Texas. Mr. Bryan died in 2001.
Betty Lou lived in Oregon and California for many years, where she worked as a nurse and as a waitress. She was also the bookkeeper for her husband's Trucking Business, Bryan & Sons Trucking. After her husband's retirement in the late 1980's, the couple moved to the Keosauqua, IA area, where they began a small farming operation. Mrs. Bryan then took a position as a nurse at the Good Samaritan Society of Keosauqua until her retirement.
Those thankful for sharing in Betty Lou's life include 2 sons - Robert L. Bryan and his wife Lynett of Denton, TX and Jimmy L. Bryan of Mt. Pleasant; 1 sister, Linda Turri of Reno, NV; 4 brothers - Danny Canady and his wife Louise of Merced, CA, Harry Canady of Montana, William Canady and his wife Jeannie of Reno, NV and Larry Canady of Los Banos, CA; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, 1 brother - David Canady and 3 sisters - Dorothy Marsh, Lola Williams and Wanda McCoy, precede Betty Lou in death.
