Wendy Francy Obituary

Wendy R. (Cue) Francy, 47, of rural New London, IA and formerly of Oelwein, IA, died Friday, May 22, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A funeral service for Wendy will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, May 27 at the First United Methodist Church, 309 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant. The Reverend Richard Eis, Pastor, West Point Presbyterian Church, The Reverend Larry Smith, Pastor, Bladensburg Christian Church and The Reverend Deborah J. Stowers, Pastor, First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery, rural New London. Friends may call from 12 Noon to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26 at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant, IA. The family will be present to receive friends from 5-8 PM Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Francy, the former Wendy Renee Cue, was born August 27, 1967 in Oelwein, IA. She was the daughter of Bernard Clare and Eileen Evelyn (Waterman) Cue. She graduated from Oelwein High School in 1985. She then graduated from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids with an AA degree in Para-Legal services. On May 8, 1993 at the Donnellson Presbyterian Church, Donnellson, IA, Wendy was united in marriage to Jerry Lee Francy.
Wendy began her career as a Para-Legal in the Tom Riley Law Firm in Cedar Rapids. She moved to the Dallas, TX area and lived there for 2 years, continuing in the para-legal field. She returned to Iowa to work for the Tom Daley Law firm. She was currently employed as a Para-Legal for the law firm of Hirsch, Adams, Putnam, Cahill, Wiley & Logan, PLC in Burlington.
Mrs. Francy was a member of the West Point Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder for the church. She was very supportive of her children's activities including band, jazz band, show choir and soccer among others. She often volunteered for the duties given to parents of the various activities. When there was time, Wendy enjoyed camping and boating, most especially at Lake Rathbun.
Those thankful for sharing in her life include her husband, Jerry of rural New London; a daughter and her husband, Kristin and Matthew Mayberry of Minneapolis, MN; a son, Jordan Francy at home in rural New London; a sister and her husband Mary and Don McChristy of North Liberty, IA, 3 half-sisters - Pam Cooke of Glenwood, IA, Diana Ganske of Oelwein, IA and Nancy Williams of Elmhurst, IL, her mother and father in-law, Dale and Martha Francy of New London, IA; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Tracey Cooke.
