She spent the first 8 years of her childhood on a farm in rural Finney County, KS. Her family moved to Cripple Creek, CO where Vivian lived 7 years. In 1942, the family moved to Wichita. Vivian graduated from North High School in Wichita in 1945.
While in school during World War II, Vivian worked in a chicken processing plant, then for Cowie Electric and finally the Wichita Beacon. During that time, she met her future husband. On January 26, 1947 at the Brotherhood Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Vivian was united to William Evan Saint. Mr. Saint died Thursday, April 4, 2002 at their residence in Mt. Pleasant.
The couple lived in Wichita until ager the birth of the 1st son, Leslie. The family moved to Keokuk, IA where Mr. Saint accepted a position with General Mills (later the Hubinger-Heinze Corp). In 1965, Vivian became a Library Aide at the Keokuk High School. She became a Teacher's Aide at Keokuk Jr. High in 1968. Vivian later worked for an optometrist in Keokuk and then became as sales associate at the Keokuk Pamida store. The couple moved to the Mapleleaf Village (now Arbor Village) in Mt. Pleasant in 1991.
Mrs. Saint was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk where she served as the Financial Secretary for 12 years. Also at Trinity, she was a leader for the MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship). She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. A member of United Methodist Women since 1952, she served a 4-year term as UMW President at each of the churches. Vivian was a member of the PEO Sisterhood, Chapter NZ of Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Women's Club and the Coterie Club. She assisted with Saint Philatelic, her husband Bill's stamp collecting business. They attended numerous stamp shows and, for many years, had a table in the Antique Building during the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion. In her spare time, she was extremely fond of Bridge, and belonged to several Bridge Clubs.
Those thankful for sharing in Vivian's life include her son, Leslie of Milwaukee, WI; a brother-in-law and his wife, Francis and Phyllis Saint of Wichita and 2 nephews, Robert Saint and Larry Wolff.
