Sydney Marie Fox, 19, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, June 30, 2014 at the university of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident south of Mount Pleasant early Monday morning.
A funeral service for Sydney Fox will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 5 at the Faith Lutheran Church, 910 East Mapleleaf Drive, Mt. Pleasant. The Reverend Michael R. Scudder, Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Pleasant Point Cemetery, rural Mt. Pleasant. Friends may call from 2-8 PM on Thursday, July 3, at Faith Lutheran Church. The family will be present to receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday evening.

Sydney Marie Fox was born June 1, 1995 at mercy Hospital in Iowa City, IA. She was the daughter of David Henry and Debra Leigh (nee Nehring) Fox. Sydney was baptized at Faith Lutheran by the Rev. Chris Roepcke on September 23, 1995 and confirmed in the faith at Faith Lutheran on May 20, 2007 by the Rev. Michael Scudder. She attended Van Allen Elementary School. In the summers of her elementary school years, she played softball in the Mt. Pleasant Girls Softball league. Sydney attended Mt. Pleasant Middle School and graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School in 2013. She then attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Sydney was employed at Z's Quick Break in Mt. Pleasant.
Sydney had a gift in making others laugh and smile. She dearly loved to be at home with family, and treasured time with her best friend, her sister Sheldon. Even when not at home, Sydney enjoyed time with family and friends, no matter the location. She held a fond affection for Winnie the Pooh, and was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers, especially her favorite player, Aaron Rodgers.
Those thankful for sharing in Sydney's life include her parents, Dave and Debra of Mt. Pleasant; her sister and her husband, Sheldon and Jake Schroeder of Mt. Pleasant; her brother - Patrick Fox of Mt. Pleasant; her niece - Addison Schroeder of Mt. Pleasant; her maternal grandparents - Curt and Joan Nehring of Mt. Pleasant; her paternal grandparents - Gary and carol Fox of Mt. Pleasant; her 4 maternal aunts and uncles - Tammy (Monte) Stark, Terry, Joshua and Joseph Nehring; her 3paternal aunts & uncles - Cherie (Brian) Dilks, Chrissy (Randy) Bentler and Cathy (Stacy) Mathen and her 9 cousins - Chelsea and Emily Stark, McKenzie and McKayla Mathen, Jacob and Justin Dilks, Lindsay Fox and Ryan and Ashley Bentler.
She is preceded in death by her great grandparents and a maternal uncle, Danny Nehring.
