Jordan C. "Joey" Bruggemeyer, 34, of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, June 11, 2015 at his residence.
A graveside funeral service for Jordan will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery, S. Walnut St at Old Threshers Rd., where burial will take place. Pastor Mike Hess of the Calvary Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant, will officiate. There will be no visitation at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant, which is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Jordan Carley "Joey" Bruggemeyer was born October 14, 1980 in Mt. Pleasant. He was the son of Harry Lewis Smith and mary Janet Bruggemeyer. He attend elementary, middle and high school in the Mt. Pleasant Community School District.
Joey worked in the construction of steel buildings with S&G Construction of Burlington. He also worked on the family farm, primarily with the raising of quarter horses.
Joey attended Calvary Baptist Church with his family. He was a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). In his spare time, Joey road motorcycles and 4-wheelers. He loved to spend time with his family and with his friends.
Those thankful for sharing in Joey's life include his mother, Janet of Mt. Pleasant; 2 children - Zander Vegan Bruggemeyer and Natalie Renee Bruggemeyer, both of Winfield, IA; 2 sisters - Velvet Bruggemeyer and Ravan Kirchner and her husband Randy, all of Mt. Pleasant; his special friend, Elizabeth Carpenter and her 2 children, all of Mt. Pleasant; 2 nephews - Brandon Sievers and Lane Hart and 1 niece - Breena Bruggemeyer.
His father, grandparents and a cousin, Andrea Sartain, precede Joey in death.
