Cynthia Blythe Obituary

Cynthia L. Blythe, 55, of Trenton and formerly of Fairfield, died Monday, February 8, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City from injuries suffered in an automobile accident early last week.
Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. The Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Mrs. Blythe, the former Cynthia Lou Hagans, was born September 8, 1960 In Iowa City, IA. She was the daughter of Jack Lorrin and Luella Almera (Calhoun) Hagans. She was raised in Fairfield where she attended school. On February 14, 1997 in Mt. Pleasant, Cynthia was united in marriage to Darold Eugene Blythe. Mr. Blythe died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Cynthia had been a custodian at the Mt. Pleasant Community High School. For most of her working life, Cynthia was employed in the Parts Department and Detail Shop of Shottenkirk Motors in Mt. Pleasant, where she was employed at the time of her death. In her spare time, she tended to a large collection of crafts and knik-knacks. With her husband, she was an enthusiastic rider on their Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Those thankful for sharing in Cynthia's life include 3 children - Aaron Hagans & his fiancée Alyssa Blackburn and John Blythe & his fiancée Jill Welcher, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Michelle Caskey and her husband Thomas of Avonsdale, AZ; her father, Jack Hagans of Fairfield; 2 brothers - Rick Hagans and his wife Lucy and Jack Hagans all of Fairfield; 1 sister - Laura "Chris" Wagner and her husband Donny of Ottumwa, and 6 grandchildren - Kendra, Daniel, Hayley, Marianne, Ruby and Casey.
Her mother and her husband precede Cynthia in death.
